2011年1月28日理論物理國際中心（）宣布將2010年度授予北京大學數學科學學院，以表彰他在完全（非緊）黎曼流形幾何的研究中所做出的傑出貢獻，也是對他十五年來在中國從(cong) 事數學教學和研究中所做出的重要貢獻的褒獎。

是專(zhuan) 門為(wei) 發展中國家的優(you) 秀青年數學家（四十五歲以下）所設立的，獎金為(wei) 一萬(wan) 五仟美元。評選委員會(hui) 由五位傑出數學家組成，他們(men) 是由理論物理國際中心和國家數學聯盟（）共同任命的。

2009年教授曾經米兰体育官方网站入口推薦，榮獲第十一屆中國青年科技獎。

2010 award goes to Chinese mathematician

ICTP's 2010 has been awarded to Professor Yuguang Shi of theSchoolofMathematical Sciences,PekingUniversity. The prize is in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the geometry of complete (noncompact) Riemannian manifolds, specifically the positivity of quasi-local mass and rigidity of asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds.
The prize is also in acknowledgement of the substantial contribution that Professor Shi has made to mathematics inChinathrough over 15 years of teaching and research.
The Ramanujan Prize, which is funded by the Norwegian Niels Henrik Abel Memorial Fund, is awarded annually to a researcher from a developing country less than 45 years of age on 31 December of the year of the award, who has conducted outstanding research in a developing country. Researchers working in any branch of the mathematical sciences are eligible. The Prize carries a $15,000 cash award. ICTP awards the prize through a selection committee of five eminent mathematicians appointed in conjunction with the International Mathematical Union (IMU).
