2016 年 11 月 22 日，（ Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications， 以下簡稱 ICA）公布了該協會(hui) 2011-2013 年度的各獎項。浙江大學馮(feng) 濤研究員、中國科技大學張先得研究員分別榮獲 2011、 2012 年度 Kirkman 獎。
 
ICA 協會(hui) 及其獎項和獲獎人介紹：

國際組合數學及其應用協會(hui) 成立於(yu) 1990 年。該組織每年頒發 Euler 獎、 Hall獎和 Kirkman 獎三種獎項，其中 Euler 獎是終身成就獎， Hall 獎和 Kirkman 獎分別授予不超過四十歲和博士畢業(ye) 不超過四年的傑出青年學者。 2016 年起又設立了 Stanton 獎，是麵向 ICA 成員的終身教育成就獎。華人學者中獲得 ICA 各獎項的有：美國特拉華大學向青教授（ 1998 年Kirkman 獎）、西澳大利亞(ya) 大學李才恒教授（ 1999 年 Kirkman 獎）、日本築波大學繆瑩教授（ 2001 年 Kirkman 獎）、澳大利亞(ya) 墨爾本大學周三明教授（ 2003 年Kirkman 獎），蘇州大學朱烈教授（ 2004 年 Euler 獎），浙江大學葛根年教授（ 2006年 Hall 獎）。這次馮(feng) 濤與(yu) 張先得分別獲得的 Kirkman 獎，是國內(nei) 學者的首次。

2011Kirkman Medal award to Tao Feng

Tao Feng’s research is in algebraic combinatorics, design theory, coding theory, and finite geometry. He had published 15 journal papers. Particularly noteworthy are his construction of the first new family of cyclotomic difference sets since 1956, and his major contributions to the proof of Helleseth’s 1976 conjecture of the cross-correlation values of m-sequences. His nominators describe a very original, passionate and hard-working researcher who excels in using deep algebraic and number theoretic methods to study combinatorial objects with symmetries.

2012Kirkman Medal award to Xiande Zhang

Xiande Zhang’s research is in combinatorial design theory and its applications to bioinformatics, networks, database theory and coding theory. She had published 16 papers in mathematics and engineering journals, with a further two papers submitted to journals and two submitted to conference proceedings. Her nominators describe an excellent discrete mathematician positioned in the top class of young combinatorialists, who is versatile, insightful, dedicated, productive and highly talented.
